Rita Wenthold is the Executive Director, Category Management and Sourcing, at Harland Clarke where she leads a team responsible for the indirect spend categories, strategic sourcing, negotiations, contracting and business management with suppliers servicing facilities across the United States and Puerto Rico. She began at Clarke American (now Harland Clarke) in November 1999, as the Category Manager over product delivery. Mrs. Wenthold had joined H.E. Butt Grocery Company (H-E-B) upon completion of her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting at the University of Texas San Antonio in 1990, progressing from Supervisor to Assistant Controller in Accounting/Finance, as she developed systems and employees to manage the direct store delivery accounts payable, and the pharmacy, customer and trade accounts receivable departments. After receiving her M.B.A. at the University of Texas in Austin at the Option II-McCombs executive program in 1995, she became the Category Manager over school/home office products, also managing greeting cards, party goods, and other general merchandise categories. Mrs. Wenthold has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1992 and became a Certified Purchasing Manager in 2007. She has served on the board of the Institute for Supply Management in San Antonio since 2005, three years as Treasurer and currently serving a two year term as President of the affiliate. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Wenthold make their home in Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas.
